A Prince Albert pup that garnered a lot of attention after being abandoned a couple of months ago is getting a lot of love this Valentine's Day.

Raider, the abandoned puppy that was rescued by three Prince Albert Raider players on a freezing night, has been adopted.

Leanne Roberts has been taking care of Raider at the Prince Albert SPCA. "Raider has found a wonderful home in North Vancouver. The couple saw him through media coverage, and they have the means to offer him a great life, and will provide everything necessary to get him fully recovered."

Since Shane Danyluk, Josh Morrisey, and Carson Perraux rescued Raider from the back of a truck on a freezing January night, he's nearly doubled in size. The Raiders players are happy their little friend has found a home.

"It's really nice, I'm really happy for him, that someone in North Vancouver would want to adopt him and give him a nice home. It's nice to see," says Danyluk.

And staff at the SPCA say a very generous donation helped in Raider's road to recovery. "We had a wonderful gentleman from Alberta, who wishes to remain anonymous, offer to cover Raider's veterinary bills to date," says Roberts.

Although Raider will be moving to the home of the WHL's Vancouver Giants, his Prince Albert friends are sure he'll stay loyal to the green and black.

"Hopefully he'll still be a Raiders fan at the end of the day."
