A Prince Albert man faces two charges of attempted murder following an incident this week.

A 33-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl say a man broke into their Prince Albert home. The women say once inside, the man grabbed a knife. They tried hiding in the bathroom, but couldn't get the door closed in time.

The man got inside and swung a hair dryer at them. The 16 year old girl was punched and kicked.

The man was finally forced out of the bathroom and police were called.

Blair Ballantyne, 34, faces charges that include attempted murder, assault with a weapon, and uttering threats.

He's been remanded in custody, and will be back in court on August 30.
