A Halifax-area woman has traveled to Saskatchewan to try and find her sister, who's been missing since last week.

Brenda King traveled from Dartmouth, NS after losing contact with her sister Carol last week. Carol, 40,  was last heard from on Saturday. There is no signal on her cell phone, and her car is missing too. Police are now using helicopters to try and locate the car, a grey, 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser with Saskatchewan plates 560 GZX.

Brenda says police were notified that her sister was "being harassed" by a boyfriend weeks ago. Police say the case is now a "top priority."

Carol lives in the Herschel district. Brenda is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to her sister's return.

UPDATE: RCMP  have pulled a car from a slough northwest of Rosetown, and can confirm the car belongs to Carol. Divers and forensic investigators went to an abandonded yard near Herschel, and removed the car from the water just before 10:00 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle has been transported to Saskatoon for further examination.

There is still no sign of Carol King.
