A generous donation from a well-known Saskatoon business man has propelled the Station 20 West development project toward construction.

Wednesday morning, Joe Remai, owner of the Remai Group of companies, handed over a $275,000 cheque to the development corporation. Once completed, Station 20 West will provide health care, housing, and food services to Pleasant Hill and the neighbouring communities.

Remai says that after hearing about the goal of the project, he was compelled to donate. "I heard about it for the last couple of years but I never really knew what exactly they were doing, and I was at their last informational meeting and now I'm familiar with what they're doing and I think it's an absolutely great project and that's why I'm supporting it."

Remai's donation will almost complete the $5.25 million needed to build the proposed 29,000 square foot building. Project members say the contribution will likely fuel donations from others to bring in the remaining $275,000 needed.
